Well, that may be true! However, the Landscape Design, actually, was everything!

A Must For Every Landscape - A Unique, Specimen Plant!

A must for any landscape is a Unique, Specimen Plant, the distinguishing feature of the front of your house or the conversation piece at your patio! It provides the “Wow!” factor, setting your house apart from your neighbors or adds distinction to any garden!
Too many times homeowners are simply not aware of the wide variety of unique plants available to them! There is the tendency to settle for the common, ordinary plants. Now don’t get me wrong! Common plants, when used appropriately, can be a beautiful addition to any landscape. But they need to be the plants that compliment the Specimen Plants!
One of the best ways to find that In-Your-Face plant is to visit local retail and commercial nurseries. Questions to ask a nursery representative during your search would include:

1. What type of exposure will the plant take, sun or shade, as it relates to where it will be planted?

2. Is the plant evergreen or deciduous and drops its leaves during the winter. This second question would simply be a matter of personal preference!

A couple of things that will help your search include, first of all, taking a picture of each plant you like. After taking a photo of each plant, take a photo of the plant tag which gives the name of the plant. Then, write down on a piece of paper the nursery you are visiting where the plant is as well as the price of the plant. Once you get home, you can review the photo log of each plant comparing plants and prices. This will help you to make an informed decision!

Now, go on a mission…Determine to find that Unique, Specimen Plant for your house! Check several nurseries before you make the decision on what plant or plants you want to introduce to your house or garden! Think outside the box! Be creative! Be different!

Happy Hunting!
